Florida Bar Exam at a Glance
The Florida Bar Exam is a two-day exam consisting of the following:
Day 1/Part A: Florida Essay and Multiple Choice Exam (50% of overall score)
- 3 Florida Essays
- 100 Florida-specific multiple-choice questions
Day 2: Multistate Bar Exam (MBE) - 50% of score
- Morning: 100 questions
- Afternoon: 100 questions
Testable topics on Day 1 include: Business Entities, including Corporations and Partnerships; Chapter 4 and 5 of the Rules Regulating the Florida Bar; Contracts; Criminal Law; Evidence; Family Law; Federal Constitutional Law; Florida Constitutional Law; Florida Rules of Civil and Criminal Procedure; Florida Rules of Judicial Administration 2.051, 2.060, and 2.160; Real Property; Torts; Trusts; Wills and Administration of Estates.
Helpful Facts
- Exam fee: $875 for first-time takers.
- Registration discounts for 1L's.
- Passing score: a combined scaled score of 272 or better.
- Bar Exam dates: February 23 and 24, 2010; July 27 and 28, 2010.
- The state-specific portion is on Tuesday. The MBE portion is on Wednesday.
- MBE transfer policy: Not allowed unless concurrently taken with another state's bar exam.
- No admission by reciprocity.
- Bring an official photo ID for admission.
