Meet Our Tutors

Kaplan Premier's tutors are the foundation of our service. Having graduated our rigorous training and development program, they all share the same level of excellence: near-perfect scores (in the 95th percentile or above), previous instructional experience, and—most importantly—the ability to create an interactive one-on-one learning environment based on the individual needs of each student.

Here are just a few of the tutors who work with Kaplan Premier students in the Philadelphia area. At the onset of any tutoring program, your Academic Coordinator will conduct our Tutor Matching Interview to find the best possible tutor for your child.

Teaching/Tutoring Experience Kaplan Premier tutor since 2003; America Reads Program Coordinator
Degrees Earned: B.A. Russian, Swarthmore College; studied at Moscow State Linguistics University
Degrees in Progress: Master of Music, Temple University
Hobbies/Passions: I've been involved in music since I began playing the violin when I was six. I now am a semi-professional opera singer, and have sung in performances all over Europe, as well as in Philadelphia and New York. I love to travel, and learn new languages. Of all the countries I've visited, Hungary is absolutely my favorite, and I can't wait to go back again.
Favorite KP Experience: At my first lesson with one student, his mother met me at the door and expressed some concern about my credentials and youthful appearance. After just one session, both my student and his mother were so happy with me that they requested additional sessions beyond what they had signed up for and insisted that I continue as his tutor!

Teaching/Tutoring Experience: Kaplan Premier tutor since 2002; writing lab tutor at Philadelphia Biblical University

Hobbies/Passions: I love to listen to, perform and study classical music, especially Bach, Brahms, and Prt. I also enjoy experiencing different cultures through travel abroad as well as through cooking and eating ethnic foods. In my free time, reading Russian novels by Dostoevsky and Tolstoy, among others, is one of my joys. While driving from one student's house to another, I like to "Mercedes watch" since they are so aesthetically pleasing!
My Favorite Kaplan Premier Experience: I love watching students as they have their "ah-ha" moment—suddenly their faces light up and they begin to answer questions with confidence. I've worked with so many wonderful families that picking my favorite Kaplan Premier experience is like choosing one's favorite child—impossible to do!
