Southern California Tutors

Southern California Tutors

Meet Our Tutors

Kaplan Premier's tutors are the foundation of our service. Having graduated our rigorous training and development program, they all share the same level of excellence: near-perfect scores (in the 95th percentile or above), previous instructional experience, and—most importantly—the ability to create an interactive one-on-one learning environment based on the individual needs of each student.

Here are just a few of the tutors who work with Kaplan Premier students in Southern California. At the onset of any tutoring program, your Academic Coordinator will conduct our Tutor Matching Interview to find the best possible tutor for your child.

Hobbies/Passions: I enjoy desert hiking and exploring offbeat local attractions (in abundance in Southern California, from homemade spiral towers to abandoned tungsten mines). I also enjoy travel to offbeat locations. Odd as it sounds, I am passionate about the study of Economics, as I am keen in the scientific study of developing a Third World country. I read extensively on issues in Development Economics and Environmental Economics, as well as Science Fiction and African Literature (J.M. Coetzee, Naruddin Farah, Bessie Head, being particular favourites). I also dabble occasionally in creative writing, theatre and art, with all three usually having something to do with issues in Development Economics.
Degrees Earned: Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh, and I am currently working towards my Master of Arts degree in Economics from California State University, Fullerton.
Fun Fact: I'm an avid cricket fan (go England and Yorkshire County!) and like to play the odd casual game.
What I enjoy about tutoring with Kaplan Premier: Being able to instill confidence in a young student under pressure so that they can ace the standardized test hurdle of their passage into the college of choice.
