How we can help you:
We'll help you select the right range of schools for
you.
We have helped thousands of students choose reach, competitive
and safety schools that are within their range of qualifications.
A wise choice of schools combined with an excellent personal
statement can lead to earlier admission and even
scholarships.
"I got awarded a $12,000 a year scholarship to Drake Law!
I've never gotten a scholarship to anything before!"
—J.
Well help you brainstorm, structure, and refine your
personal statement.
Your personal statement should tell the admissions committees
why they should admit you. A tremendous statement can push a
weaker applicant into the "Accepted" pile, while a lackluster one
can put your application in jeopardy. Do not take the risk of
submitting a weak personal statement! Our team uses its
admissions expertise to help you articulate your "story" and
write a compelling, memorable personal statement.
"The advising I've gotten from you has helped me
tremendously to pinpoint where I want my essay to go. It's
allowed me to focus on a direct path as opposed to being across
the board."
—T.
We'll guide you through the application process.
To demonstrate your enthusiasm for your target schools, apply
early. We can mentor you through the entire application process,
from asking for recommendation letters to targeting the right
deadlines.
"Thanks again-your insights were timely and extremely
helpful. If a year ago someone said that I would be going to [a
top 10 law school] on $20K/year in scholarships, I'd tell him
to get his head checked."
—W.
How the Admissions Consulting Service Works
- One "business" day after you enroll, the Kaplan team emails
you an introductory survey that assesses your
scores, grades, activities, and potential grad schools.
- We use the survey data to carefully handpick the
best consultant for you from our national
network.
- Within 2 "business" days, your consultant will
contact you to begin your sessions over phone and
email. You can use your purchased time however and
whenever you want.
- The process is not done in person for three reasons:
- We want to match you with the best-fitting consultant
for you. If you live in Chicago but are interested
in schools on the West coast, we want to be able to pair
you with the most knowledgeable expert on those schools,
regardless of location.
- We want to mimic the way the admissions committee
judges you—on paper, via your personal statement and
application. If you can't make a case for yourself on paper
to your consultant, it will very hard to do so with the
actual admissions committee.
- You will be able to schedule time with your consultant
at nights, on weekends—whatever works best for you,
regardless of location or traffic.
- Like a lawyer or accountant, our consultants bill for the
time they spend working on your behalf, much of which will be
"out of sight." They keep detailed records of their work for
you and update you on the time remaining in your package.
- You can purchase more time, or get refunds of unused
time.
