June to September
  • Receive the Directory of Public High Schools (April-September) through the guidance office or through the Office of Student Enrollment Planning and Operations.
  • If you haven't already, start your prep for the SHSAT with a Classroom Course or a customized Premier Tutoring package.

September to October
  • Attend city-wide high school fair
  • Receive Specialized High Schools applications
  • Attend high school fairs sponsored by each borough
Late October/Early November
November
  • SHSAT Make-Up Test

    NOTE: Only with special permission. Documentation from your guidance counselor is required as to why you were unable to take the test on the assigned date.
First week of December
  • High school applications due to guidance counselors
Mid-February to Early March
  • Students receive SHSAT scores back and are notified of their acceptance to the Specialized High Schools.
  • Students should return letters of acceptance to their guidance counselors.
April to May
  • Students who have been placed on a wait list may receive new information about acceptance to a specialized
