Kaplan hand-selected 10 outstanding MCAT teachers to deliver the 2007 MCAT Summer program. The average score of our MCAT Summer faculty on their own MCAT is 36, and each has received the highest marks from our students for engaging, effective teaching. Many of our faculty are currently enrolled in med programs at prestigious schools like Harvard and Penn. Both the program director and program manager were faculty members of previous Kaplan Summer program. Our entire faculty is available until 11pm each day to help your reach your MCAT goals.

Charity Glass
Charity Glass, graduate of Harvard University (A.B. Philosophy, 2005), is excited to be entering her second year of teaching for Kaplan's Summer Intensive Program. In addition to teaching, she has spent the last two years working for the University of Pittsburgh as both a community outreach specialist for the Radiation Oncology Community Outreach Group and a research associate in the division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Palliative Care. She will matriculate at Harvard Medical School in the fall of 2007.

Owen Muir
Owen Muir attended Amherst College, earning a B.A. in Psychology and then completed a post-baccalaureate year at City College of New York. He was accepted to the University of Rochester's medical school and will matriculate this fall. Owen has conducted research work with Dr. Martin Gardiner of Brown University, studying the effects of arts education on the academic performance of 1700 seventh graders over a three-year period.

Ioana Baiu
Ioana Baiu is a senior at University of Wisconsin Madison where she is double-majoring in French literature and neuroscience with honors in the major and honors in the liberal arts. She plans to attend the Harvard Medical School in the upcoming fall. A Kaplan MCAT student veteran, she is dedicated to teaching other pre-medical students and helping them achieve their dream of becoming great doctors. After three years of teaching and performing research, she published a paper in an education journal and sent two posters to national teaching conferences. This was accompanied by the publication of a genetics research article, an Excellence in Leadership Award, and hundreds of hours of volunteering in the medical field. Ioana distinguished herself as a Kaplan teacher for her enthusiasm for teaching and her dedication to students. Having taught not only MCAT but also DAT, PCAT, GMAT, ACT, and SATII, she works intensely with her students not only to help them achieve their score goals, but also to guide them on their future graduate studies and career paths.
Tiffany Sinclair
Tiffany Sinclair is currently a senior at the University of Pittsburgh and will graduate with a B.S. in neuroscience in December, 2007. She began teaching MCAT classes for Kaplan in May, 2006, after taking the Kaplan course in the spring and successfully conquering the April MCAT.
She is currently in the process of applying to medical school and plans to begin in August, 2008. As a student at the University of Pittsburgh, Tiffany works in the lab of Dr. Peter Gianaros of the Department of Psychiatry, where she is investigating the relationship between amygdala activation and cardiovascular reactivity. Tiffany is also a volunteer on the Hematology/Oncology Unit at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and enjoys practicing ballet in her free time.
Emily Budd
Emily Budd graduated from the University of Calgary with a BSc in Biological Sciences. She recently completed her honors thesis, "On the Role of Protein Kinase Pathways in Trophic Factor Mediated Excitatory Synaptogenesis Between Identified Lymnaea Neurons." Now in her second year of medical school at the University of Alberta, Canada, she is a member of both her class council and the medical students association. She loves getting students excited about the MCAT and even shows up on test day to give her students high-fives!
Sean Sumsion
Sean Sumsion graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.A. in Microbiology, and an emphasis in Business Management. During his past year with Kaplan, he has received the highest marks for his teaching. In addition to teaching, Sean has spent countless hours tutoring other students excel in general biology, microbiology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, physics, statistics, and calculus. Sean plans to enter medical school in fall 2008 after a year of research for BYU's Cancer Research Lab.
