There are three things you need to remember when it comes
to your score on the Psychology Subject Test:
- You will receive one raw score point for each correct
answer.
- Unanswered questions will not contribute to your raw
score.
- There is a guessing penalty of 1/4 point for each
incorrect answer. In other words, 1/4 point is
subtracted from your raw score for each incorrect answer.
ETS then converts your raw score into a scaled score. The
range for GRE Psychology Test scaled scores is 200 to 990,
although in practice scores usually fall between 300 and 800.
You will also receive two subscores. The experimental
psychology subscore is obtained from the experimental- or natural
science-oriented questions. The social psychology subscore is
obtained from the social- or social science-oriented questions.
The questions in the general category do not contribute to any
subscore, but they do contribute to your overall score.
