1) What’s happening to the SAT due to coronavirus?

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the May 2 & June 6, 2020 SAT administrations were canceled. To make up for lost opportunities to test, CollegeBoard will administer exams every weekend of the calendar year, beginning in August. This means a new test date in September, in addition to previously scheduled August 29, October 3, November 7, and December 5 dates.

2) will i get a refund?

Yes. If your registered test date was affected by cancelations or closings, you will receive a refund from CollegeBoard. If you have not yet received your refund, contact CollegeBoard directly.

3) when is the next sat?

The next SAT is currently scheduled for August 29. There will also be dates offered in each subsequent month of the calendar year. If you registered for the a testing date that was canceled, you will receive communications from the CollegeBoard about any test center closures.

Depending on the progression of the coronavirus pandemic, it’s possible the SAT administrations in the summer and fall of 2020 will also be canceled.

6) Will the SAT be given online?

No plans have currently been announced for online testing. However, if closures and stay-at-home orders continue into the summer and fall, it’s possible that the SAT will be administered as an online exam. No plans or details have been announced, but students who are planning on taking the SAT this year should routinely check for updates.
