February: Perfect for Groundhogs, Leaping & LSAT Prep?
February 21, 2012
February is a funny month: it’s the shortest, yet it’s stuffed with holidays. From Groundhog’s Day on February 2 to this Leap Year’s addition of a bonus February 29th, this little month is big into celebrating. February is also a perfect time to consider preparing for the June LSAT: students who plan their prep now are sure to feel stronger walking into the test four months from now.
Just like our fuzzy friend Punxsutawney Phil, in February, cold weather haters may be thinking winter will last forever (or at least another six weeks- come to think of it, has Phil ever not seen his shadow?) But instead of dreading every snowflake, prospective attorneys might recognize the long road to spring as a chance to achieve maximum effect with minimal stress. Three months or more is ideal for LSAT prep because it gives test takers plenty of time to pace their study slowly but steadily- this reduces the anxiety than can go along with last-minute prep pinch.
Valentine’s Day (as enchanting or as irritating as we may find it) celebrates love, and love is all about compromise. Even if test takers linger past February to start their LSAT prep in the spring, they can still achieve balance in their study. Sure, committing to study several times per week takes work, but the resulting glow of Test Day confidence is grand!
Even if lawyers-to-be wait until the last minute (or month) to crank up their LSAT prep, they can still achieve speedy success. Consider the ambitious leaders honored on Presidents’ Day: their success didn’t necessarily come easy, but their crunch-time perseverance paid off… and for a whole country! Certainly, buckling down to drill practice problems nearly every day for six weeks sounds tough- it is. But it’s never too late to reach for one’s professional or personal goals. After all, over half of U.S. presidents have been- you guessed it- lawyers!
This February, seize the (extra) day to plan your own LSAT prep: with class schedules, formats, and other options to meet any test taker’s needs, Kaplan gives you every reason to celebrate your law school dream.
