I've spent most of the last 15 years in education—as a high school English teacher, college admissions counselor, and most recently, director of college guidance. In college (Tufts University), I majored in English and spent a year studying British literature in London. Following that, I earned a Master's degree in education from Harvard University. I taught in both public and private schools before moving on to admissions work with the University of Delaware. I've always loved working with students, but it was through my work in admissions at the University of Delaware that I realized how much I enjoy helping students through the college process. Following my work with UD, I spent five years as the director of college guidance at Wilmington Friends School, an independent school in Wilmington, DE. While at Wilmington Friends, I created a comprehensive college counseling program for students in grades 9-12. In addition, I counseled students individually and worked closely with families through the entire college process. I am happy to have the opportunity to continue my work with students and their families through Kaplan. |
