Jill
Graduate Admissions Consultant

In addition to her work as a Kaplan Graduate Admissions Consultant, Jill is a career coach. She enjoys helping clients assess their skills, interests and values; research and develop focused goals; and generate plans by which to achieve their career aspirations. Jill has provided career development services to hundreds of undergraduate and graduate students, alumni, and mid-level professionals at several universities, non-profit organizations, and government agencies. Her affinity for encouraging people to achieve their potential is reflected in some of her past jobs as a professor and clinical counselor.

Jill has taught courses at universities and colleges in Boston, Philadelphia, and Michigan that ranged from English Composition and Public Speaking to Marketing Research. Her clinical counseling experience has included a university counseling center, a hospital in-patient detox unit, and community mental health agencies.

While a graduate student at the University of Michigan, Jill was hired to review application materials and summarize candidate qualifications for the department's admissions committee. Certain candidates definitely stood out from others because of their essays, letters of recommendation, and relevant work experience. Their underlying passion for pursuing a graduate degree, knowledge of their chosen field, and evidence-based achievements differentiated them from other candidates. Jill used all of this information to help students create a compelling, well-organized, and consistent story.

Jill has three Master's degrees: Clinical Counseling Psychology; Public Policy; and Speech Communications. She was also accepted to every graduate program to which she applied--12 in all. She received full scholarships from three programs, in addition to stipends from two.
