Judi has over twenty years of experience in graduate student admissions as a counselor, administrator, and graduate student admissions director for the Kogod School of Business at American University in Washington, D.C. Her initial position at the school was as a Graduate Student Counselor. Annually, she advised over twelve hundred graduate students on academic and career goals. Judi was then promoted to Director of Graduate Programs and Placement where she played a key role in preparing the school for AACSB accreditation while maintaining direct contact with students' academic and placement concerns. For more than twelve years Judi was the Director of Graduate Admissions and Financial Aid. She interviewed and counseled hundreds of prospective candidates each year. She also reviewed all applications and oversaw the Admissions Committee and ensured graduate admission standards and quality control while managing all graduate school financial aid, marketing and recruiting activities. Under her direction, they annually exceeded enrollment targets by 25 to 40%. Judi was the school's representative to the Graduate Management Admissions Council where she facilitated educational workshops at the annual conferences and participated on panels that provided information to prospective graduate business students attending national GMAC forums. She was also the lead representative at all international and national MBA forums. These activities provided an opportunity for her to interact with admissions directors from hundreds of graduate business programs where they exchanged admission criteria information. Throughout her career at American University, she received citations in recognition of her value to the School of Business and to the university. Now, as a member of the Kaplan team, her professional time is spent on what she likes doing the most—helping to prepare candidates for graduate school admission by providing guidance and structure to domestic and international clients for school searches and admission into top graduate business programs here and abroad. Her expertise includes but is not limited to showing her clients how admission committees will likely perceive their applications, providing feedback on structure, content, and style of essays and recommendations, and training applicants on school admission interview techniques. She firmly believes that all of her advisees are a success story. |
