As a college counselor, I have been told by many parents and students that I bring not only years of expertise, insight and assistance, but also a knack for instilling a sense of calm, focus and optimism. I welcome the opportunity to help each student find his/her "perfect fit." I've been helping people achieve their goals as long as I can remember. Whether it was my very first job after college doing cancer research at the Children's Cancer Research Foundation, or my subsequent stint as a biology teacher, or my most recent 30+ years in college counseling, I embrace the opportunity to find that perfect fit for each student. I have spent over three decades in the college counseling arena at a variety of secondary schools in Massachusetts. This has enabled me to recognize that each and every student is unique, and that different approaches and tactics work best with different types of students. I also recognize how important it is to have good connections on the professional level, so I have volunteered countless hours of personal time serving in leadership positions for the New England Association for College Admission Counseling, the Massachusetts School Counselors Association, and as an assembly delegate to the National Association for College Admission Counseling. I have been a speaker at local and national conferences including the College Board and the Massachusetts Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. I continue to attend professional meetings and conferences in order to facilitate networking and to stay current on matters of admissions and financial aid. My other vital statistics include an AB degree from Emmanuel College, Boston, a M.Ed. from Boston State College, and additional credits from Assumption College and UCLA (College Counseling Certification Program). |
