Priscilla
Business Admissions Consultant

|
Priscilla has been advising business school applicants for Kaplan for the past nine years. She believes that she has been most helpful in helping clients determine their key selling points as applicants for admission. Priscilla helps clients answer such questions as: What is a good example of leadership or teamwork? How specific does one need to be when outlining career objectives? How can an applicant convince an admissions committee that he or she is a good "fit" for the particular school? What is a unique response to an essay question vs. those that are commonly provided? If there is something an applicant needs to "explain," what is the best way to do this? She can also help applicants strategize about schools, help applicants assist recommenders in writing more effective recommendations, and conduct practice interviews. Priscilla's clients have been accepted to many of their "reach" schools, including Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, Tuck, Columbia, Darden, Michigan, Stern, Chicago, Kellogg, Fuqua, Anderson, INSEAD, and LBS. After obtaining her Master's degree in Education from Stanford University, she worked in the office of Admissions and Financial Aid at Stanford Law School for two years. She then went to Boston College where she was the Director of Admissions for the Graduate School of Management for three years. From there, Priscilla was hired as Assistant Dean for MBA Admissions and Program Administration at the University of Rochester's William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration, where she worked for nine years. During this time, she estimates that she reviewed about 30,000 business school applications, recruiting and interviewing MBA candidates both internationally and domestically. During this time, Priscilla was a member of the Graduate Management Admissions Council and a member of the board of directors for the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management. She is quite familiar with the admissions process from the perspective of an admissions committee. Priscilla earned her AB in English from Dartmouth College, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She currently publishes a number of scholarly type articles each year. She and her family live in Penfield, New York. |
