Pre-Med Admissions Consultant

Tom is one of the nation's leading authorities on the medical school admissions process. Prior to his recent retirement from full time admissions work, Tom served as the chief admissions officer at four different medical schools. During his 38 year career, Tom reviewed an estimated 60,000 medical school applications and read at least 200,000 letters of recommendation. He has interviewed more applicants than he can count and has trained hundreds of admissions committee members and interviewers.

In his role as Chair of the Association of American Medical Colleges National Committee on Admissions, Tom helped oversee the national admissions process and helped develop and served on the faculty of several training workshops for medical school admissions officers. Tom has made numerous presentations to national and regional medical education groups such as the Association of American Medical Colleges, The National Association of Advisors to the Health Professions, Alpha Epsilon Delta, and others. His popular admissions seminar, The Inside Scoop on Medical School Admissions, has been presented on over 85 college campuses located in 29 states and Canada. He is a co-author of Get Into Medical School - A Strategic Approach and it's predecessor, Newsweek/Kaplan's "Medical School Admissions Advisor."

Tom currently serves as a Medical School Admissions Consultant for Kaplan. In this role he works with individual applicants, helping them to find their way through the maze that is the medical school admissions process today.
