College Admissions Consultant

One of the special satisfactions I receive in life is to help clients achieve their dreams and goals for life after high school. I was a College Admissions Counselor for the last 9 years of my 33 years working in education. For 19 years I was a high school counselor. I have been a classroom teacher at the middle school, high school, and college levels. I have bachelors and masters degrees in education with my Masters specifically in the area of educational counseling. I regularly attend seminars and conferences on topics related to the college admissions process and travel to visit college campuses and speak with admissions representatives.

As a College Counselor working in a highly regarded public school system in Colorado, and now as a Kaplan Admissions Consultant, I have assisted hundreds of anxious and worried students, and parents, in planning for college and careers. My former students and clients are attending schools all over the country, from New England to California, Florida to the Pacific Northwest and dozens of places in-between! Living and working in Colorado for the past twenty eight years, I am intimately familiar with colleges in the West and Midwest; but, have also visited numerous schools in all parts of the country.

I have been extremely fortunate to be able to successfully assist many students with the college search and acceptance process and also with acquiring talent scholarships (athletics and performing arts) and appointments to U.S. military academies. I have visited all the academies, some several times. I have a long standing close relationship with the Air Force Academy admissions office.

The greatest pleasure I take from my job is helping students and parents find the right college match that fits the student's abilities, goals, values and expectations. Regardless of characteristics, matching the right colleges with the right student is what brings me the greatest joy in my professional work.
