Vairavan
Pre-Med Admissions Consultant
Each year Vairavan sees scores of qualified applicants for medical school turned down for the highly sought-after interviews. Why? Because admissions committees have thousands of applications to read. Only the ones that stand out get interviews. As an experienced Kaplan medical admissions consultant, he helps his clients take all of their experiences and give them a winning presentation for both the application and interview portions of the admissions process. Vairavan received his B.S. in biology with honors from Yale University and his M.D. with honors from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He interviewed at medical schools all around the country such as Baylor, Stanford, Duke, Harvard, Yale, University of Pennsylvania, University of Texas-Southwestern, and others. At Baylor, Vairavan was a full voting member on the admissions committee for three years; he screened hundreds of applications, conducted numerous student interviews, and participated in selection committee meetings with faculty members. He has also been a Kaplan MCAT teacher for the last 5 years and helped numerous students with the admissions process. Currently, Vairavan is a surgical resident at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. From start to finish, he can help applicants with the admissions process. In the past he has assisted clients with the personal statement, explaining special circumstances, school selection, letters of recommendation, secondary applications, and interviewing skills through mock interviews. He is especially experienced at helping non-traditional applicants who are making a career change or have been out of school for a while. His clients have been accepted by top medical schools such as Johns Hopkins, Washington University in St. Louis, Baylor, UT-Southwestern, Cornell, University of Michigan, University of Chicago, and Ohio State. |
