In today's world of higher education the pressures of finding the right fit for your student and family can be extremely overwhelming. There are many pieces in selecting the best educational option available. I welcome the opportunity to work with you and your student in putting those pieces together. I have a Master's degree in Professional Psychology with a specialty in Counseling. I have counseled young children and adolescents in a managed care setting as well as in a high school setting. My career began in Education working for an Educational Consultant in the Greater Atlanta area. I recently worked at a private school in Atlanta as the College Counselor. As the College Counselor, I built and maintained relationships with admission representatives, advised students on curriculum, assisted in application process and made appropriate educational recommendations. I have worked with hundreds of families, covering the spectrum of issues and challenges, from students who excel in all areas to those who need special accommodations throughout college. In order to bring first hand information to my students, I visit and evaluate schools and programs across the United States. I also attend conferences on learning differences, education, and college admissions. I have accommodated a strong background on schools that assist students with specialized needs. I am also familiar with schools for the creative students who aspire to be dancers, musicians, writers, artists, and actors. I graduated from the Independent Educational Consultants Association Practices and Principles Training Institute held at John's Hopkins University. I am a member of Independent Educational Consultants Association, Learning Disabled Association of Georgia, The Southern Association for College Admission Counseling, & The National Association for College Admission Counseling. |
