Dr. Carl Miller

Dr. Miller received his M.D. degree from the Cornell University Medical College (now the Weill Cornell Medical College) in 1975 and completed his internship and residency at The New York Hospital (now the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Campus) in 1978, serving as Chief Medical Resident at the Memorial Hospital-Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in his final year. Dr. Miller's fellowship training in Gastroenterology at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center was completed in 1980, after which he entered the practice of Gastroenterology and internal medicine. He has served in several extramural administrative positions since 1980 including President of the Cancer Prevention Research Institute, N.Y., and as a member of the Public Education Committee, Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society. Dr. Miller has served as Chairman of the Biomedical Sciences and Academic Dean at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City. Since 1980, Dr. Miller has maintained a faculty appointment and teaching Weill Cornell medical students on a regular basis. Dr. Miller has been the recipient of numerous Weill Cornell teaching awards from 2000-2004 including the Senior List Teaching Award (4 years), the Alpha Omega Alpha Award for Outstanding Clinical Faculty (2 years), and the Charles L. Bardes M.D. Teaching Award as well as many others. Dr. Miller is currently the Associate Dean for Students and Equal Opportunity Programs at Weill Cornell Medical College. He is a long time member of the Admissions Committee at Weill Cornell Medical College and directs the Travelers summer research program - a 42-year-old program that encouraged pre-med minorities to do research and engage in learning about health care disparities.
