Welcome, and thanks for taking the time to check in with us! We know that as an advisor you wear many hats – educator, counselor, and occasionally drill sergeant, to name just a few – and that your time is valuable. Recognizing that, our aim is to help make your job easier, so that you can spend more time focused on helping your students acheive their goals.
Already more than 500 of you and your peers have enjoyed the 6 months of material we’ve shared through our Pre-Health Advisor Newsletter, and this blog is a chance for us to continue to deliver useful information, resources, and connections in a way that fits easily into your day-to-day life. To kick things off right, I’m happy to introduce two resources that you can start taking advantage of right now.
First, we recently held a live, online seminar specifically for advisors to discuss the biggest updates from the 2012 NAAHP National Meeting in June; if you were unable to attend or simply want to watch it again, you can find the recording here. We also explored some of the innovations that we’re working on here at Kaplan in response to the changing world of health care education, so we hope you’ll find it as exciting as we do!
Second, we’re pleased to once again offer pre-health advisors throughout the country a scholarship for a free Kaplan MCAT course, to be awarded to a student in need at your institution; this is a long-standing program of ours, and already this year we’ve distributed more than 450 scholarships! If you haven’t received a scholarship for 2012 yet and would like to, simply contact your local Kaplan representative.
Finally, I’d like to remind you that we value your feedback and input, so if you have information or suggestions that you’d like us to share with the advising community or with pre-health students throughout the country, please let us know.
In the end our goals are the same – to help your students on the path to a successful and rewarding future – so we’re looking forward to working with you to achieve that end.
