2013 MCAT Test Dates Announced

November 1, 2012

The 2013 MCAT Test Dates were recently announced by the AAMC, and the 2013 testing schedule is very similar to the 2012 cycle. The exam will be administered 28 times next year, with tests spread across 25 dates between late January and mid-September as they have been for the past several years.
While the testing schedule itself isn’t surprising, it should be noted that as of October 16th the AAMC has begun taking registrations for the Winter and Spring administrations of the exam. These 10 administrations represent the most desirable windows to sit the MCAT, and due to their popularity it’s expected that many Prometric test centers will fill quickly. As such, if your students are planning to take the exam before June it’s a good idea to encourage them to settle on a date as soon as possible and reserve their seat.
To help you as you advise your students, we’re happy to once again provide our 2013 MCAT Test Date Calendars – feel free to distribute these pieces to your students as needed, or let you local Kaplan representative know if you’d like us to supply printed copies. In the meantime, here are a few additional changes for the 2013 MCAT test cycle:
  • The registration fee for the exam has been increased to $270.
  • The fees for rescheduling a test date or changing test center have increased to $90 each.
  • The Fee Assistance Program (FAP) will allow students with a demonstrated financial need to register for the MCAT at a reduced rate ($100) and to waive AMCAS fees for up to 14 medical schools, among other benefits.
