The Inside Scoop on 2012-2013 Grad School Admissions

November 1, 2012
Lee Weiss

Will there be more merit-based aid for this admissions cycle?  How much do GRE scores really matter? Do you need work or research experience to get into grad school?  Are more international candidates applying to US grad programs?  What are the best ways for a prospective graduate student to gain an edge on other prospective candidates?  Do admissions officers visit the Facebook pages of applicants?

Each year, we survey admissions officers from the top 50 graduate school programs, as ranked by US News and World Report in the disciplines of education, engineering, public administration and psychology.  We ask questions about the GRE, other quantitative and qualitative graduate school admissions criteria, financial aid, and more. We get an in-depth understanding of the current admissions landscape, and we look forward to sharing this information with advisors and students.

Want the inside scoop on how to optimize your graduate school application for the 2012-2013 admissions cycle?  Sign up for our free, live online GRE event on Wednesday, November 28th (at 6:30 PM ET, and again at 8:30 PM ET), where we’ll share our latest findings for admissions officers, interview graduate school admissions experts, and answer any questions you have about the process. We hope to see you then in our virtual classroom.
In the meantime, please comment on this blog post if you have questions about the grad school admissions process for your advisees. We’re happy to answer any questions you have.
