While it’s still not even summer 2013, spring 2015 is not too far away, which means that MCAT 2015 is getting even closer! At the end of May, Kaplan published a new title – MCAT 2015: What the Test Change Means for You Now, and we have a copy waiting for you!
While the AAMC has done a phenomenal job keeping everybody posted about the upcoming changes to the MCAT, it came to our attention that the amount of the material would be overwhelming for the typical pre med, so the intention of this book was to summarize the changes, but really dive in and explain what the changes are all about and how students who would be testing in the new format could start thinking about how to best start preparing themselves now so they wouldn’t have any surprises in regards to the new subject matter and test emphasis in 2015.
What the Test Change Means for You Now covers a wide range of topics, and we made it a very easy read – deliberately. It starts off with a brief history of the MCAT, and how it’s used in medical school admissions, but then dives into the changes of the exam and offers some of the first strategies for how to prepare for the new types of questions on the new MCAT. To better help everyone understand the development of a new test, we have included the transcript of an in depth interview with our psychometrician who spells out in simple terms how the efficacy of a new exam is ensured.
