2433943The Law Blog at the Wall Street Journal compared LSAT scores of the graduating class of 2012 with the graduating class of 2015 at 5 of the nation’s top law schools, and the numbers remained fairly consistent even as these schools faced incoming classes that were smaller. For example, at perennial top ranked Yale Law School the 25th and 75th percentile of admissions in 2009 was 170 and 176; for students entering in 2009 the numbers were the same. Harvard Law School remained fairly steady: the 25th/75th percentiles for class of 2012 were 171/176 while the numbers for the class of 2015 was 170/175.

It is clear that while the numbers of applicants to top ranked law schools may be decreasing, those law schools are not lowering their standards; top LSAT scores are still a major factor in the admissions process.
