Nurses touch my life on a daily basis. Whether it’s the home healthcare nurse who comes to care for my Grandfather who has dementia; a recent nursing school grad who quit being a police officer due to a son’s illness who’s taking our NCLEX® Review; or even my friend telling me what nose spray to use for my spring allergies, I have the honor of being surrounded by nurses, and I love it!
However, this means that I am put in a very delicate situation when deciding who I’ll nominate for the Johnson & Johnson Amazing Nurses 2013 campaign. This is why I’ll encourage you, the readers, to help by nominating as many outstanding nurses as possible! I like to think of it as helping to spread our love of nurses, while also making me feel a little bit better about my indecisive nature.
Now through May 31, 2013, in 300 words or less, you can nominate an APRN, LPN, or RN nurse, nurse educator, mentor, etc. who is “amazing and heroic to YOU.”* Perhaps it’s a nurse who cared for you or a loved one in a particularly challenging situation, or even a colleague who goes above and beyond and makes a difference in the lives of her students. That’s a tough one as I too am surrounded by so many wonderful nurses!
