TGIF! As our two weeks’ worth of picture-inspired posts wrap up, I’d like to thank you for bearing with me and my less-than-traditional sense of humor while the rest of the EIN blog team is out of the office. What can I say about my blogs other then sometimes looking at Pinterest can turn a case of writers block into the most unusual articles… I hope you understand.
Throughout my years in working with nurses, I’ve heard countless workshops and seminars and my most favorite lecture name, “There’s no place like Homeostasis,” that has inspired today’s post on kidneys.
According to WebMD.com, your kidneys are fist-sized organs located on each side of your lower back (flank) of your abdomen. Their main function is to filter the blood by removing waste, regulating the balance of electrolytes, and controlling the body’s fluid balance. Since the entire volume of blood in a person’s body passes through the kidneys several times a day, we need to be nice to our kidneys.
Remember that your kidneys have always got your back (pun intended—haha!), so you’d better listen to them whenever they tell you they’re thirsty, especially in this hot summer heat. Be sure to kick back and relax while staying nice and hydrated over the weekend, so you can come back next week and read our earth-shattering new blogs (or to see if I’m lying about them being earth-shattering). Have a great weekend!
