* More Students Recommend Kaplan: These are the findings of two quantitative surveys conducted by Kaplan conducted August 26, 2022, through September 30, 2022, and September 5, 2022, through October 9, 2023. A sample of 368 NCLEX test prep customers was interviewed online, of which 118 customers prepped with Kaplan and 250 customers prepped with any other market competitor (selected from a closed ended list representing the majority of the NCLEX prep market with the option to write in a competitor). The distribution of competitors selected in the survey is not necessarily reflective of true market share. The results showed that Kaplan has a net promoter score that is statistically higher than the competition at a 95% confidence level with a 10% margin of error.

‡ Pass rate based on self-reported first-time NCLEX exam outcomes collected via Kaplan post-exam surveys from August 2023 through March 2026. The study population consisted of 324 first-time NCLEX-RN test-takers, of whom 307 (95%) passed the exam and 17 (5%) did not. Of these students, 49 completed all of the recommended Kaplan activities and achieved a greater than 99% pass rate. This subset completed an average of 50 Total Practice Activities (defined as the sum of CAT, Question Trainer, Practice and Sample Test, readiness, diagnostic, and Qbank activities), which included 3 CATs, 34 Qbank activities, and an additional 65 video activities.
These are the findings of a study Kaplan conducted between June and October 2025. In this study, 49 Kaplan students who attended a non-US medical school, took the USMLE Step 1 exam, and used more practice questions reported higher USMLE Step 1 pass rates. Across engagement levels, students who answer 1,000+ practice questions pass at approximately 79% (N=19); students who answer 1,200+ pass at 82% (N=17); and students at the highest engagement level (1,800+ questions) pass at 90% (N=10). These engagement tiers are cumulative and overlap: students who answered more questions are also counted in the lower tiers, so the same individuals appear in more than one figure.
