How does HSG work for tutoring programs?
As of April 1, 2019, the following tutoring packages are covered by the HSG:
- tutoring packages of 10 hours or more for SAT or ACT
- tutoring packages of 10 hours or more for DAT, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, OAT, or PCAT
Option 1 for tutoring—Didn’t score higher than baseline on the official test.
If you completed the program, take the official test, and your score on test day doesn’t improve, you have 1 of 2 options:
- Free repeat of hours: you can ask to repeat your tutoring hours, up to the number of hours you originally purchased, for free, or
- Money back: you can request your money back
Option 2 for tutoring—Scored higher than baseline on the official test.
If you completed the program, take the official test, and your score on test day is higher—but you’re not happy with the score and plan to test again:
- Free reactivation: you can contact Kaplan within 60 days of your Kaplan program expiration date and ask to continue your studies, and we’ll reactivate your access to your online resources (excluding live classes, coaching, and tutoring) for an additional 12 weeks, completely free.
Note that there is no free repeat or money-back option if your score was higher.
How does HSG work for International Students Programs?
If you are an F-1 student in the GRE or GMAT for International Students Programs, you need to speak directly with your KI Academic Manager or School Director to request any component of your Higher Score Guarantee and see if you qualify.
Then, when determining if you did or didn’t score higher on your official test, Kaplan compares your baseline composite score with your overall official score on test day.
