Florida Bar Exam Information

The Florida Bar Exam is a two-day Exam. It takes place on the last Tuesday and Wednesday of February and July. The Florida portion takes place on Tuesday and the MBE®(Multistate Bar Exam) takes place on Wednesday.

The Florida Bar Exam will be administered on:

  • 2024: July 30-31,
  • 2025: February 25-26, and July 29-30

The Overall Method may be utilized only by applicants who submit to Parts A and B during the same administration. A passing grade under this method would be an average scaled score of 136 or better.

The Individual Method may be utilized by those applicants who passed one part of the examination previously and elect to retake only the part previously failed. Applicants must achieve a passing scaled score of 136 score on each part taken.

Scaled score of 80 or better.

MPRE® Policy: The acceptable MPRE® score must be earned within 25 months of passing other parts of the Florida Bar Examination.

There is no reciprocity between Florida and any other jurisdiction. Submission to the Florida Bar Examination and completion of a character and fitness investigation is required of all applicants.

Effective November 30, 2017, the Supreme Court of Florida has approved a change to the Rules of the Supreme Court Relating to Admissions to the Bar that will allow applicants for admission to The Florida Bar to transfer Multistate Bar Examination (MBE®) scores attained in other jurisdictions to Florida provided that the score meets the minimum passing score for Florida under rule 4-26.2 (currently a scaled score of 136) and the score was attained within 25 months of passing both Part A of the General Bar Examination and the MPRE® as required under rule 4-18.1.
